<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image composition device capable of analyzing a facial image, based on a pattern registered in pattern dictionary, and checking the pattern, and a pattern checking method thereof. <P>SOLUTION: In the image composition device 10, an expression ID is specified by a key address 122 at a key input part 28 in a pattern determination circuit 20.
