PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus in which a laser scanner motor is rotated with high accuracy regardless a variation in rotation signal during one turn of the motor due to the accuracy of a polygon mirror and the nonuniform magnetizing of the motor. SOLUTION: A scanner motor control part 1 of the image forming apparatus is constituted so that the laser scanner motor is controlled by dividing the rotation signal and outputting a control signal at every rotation signal, thus the laser scanner motor is rotated with high accuracy regardless the variation in rotation signal during one turn of the motor due to the accuracy of a polygon mirror and the uneven magnetizing of the motor.
