PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical controller unit of a reflection type improved in utilization efficiency of light. SOLUTION: The optical controller unit 8 is equipped with a plurality of pixels 10 arrayed two-dimensionally on a substrate 30. A first reflective layer 32 is formed on the substrate 30. An optical modulating film 34 is provided atop the first reflective layer 32. An electro-optical material, such as PLZT, at which a refractive index changes, according to the applied electric field, is selected as the material of the optical modulation film 34. The top face of the optical modulation film 34 is provided with a transparent electrode 36. A second reflective layer 40 is formed atop the transparent electrode 36. The second reflective layer 40 is formed by dielectric multilayered films, on which layer a first dielectric film 42 and a second dielectric film 44 are laminated alternately. The first reflective layer 32, the optical modulation film 34, and the second reflective layer 40 constitute a resonator. The transparent electrode 36 and the first reflective layer 32 form an electrode pair, and the reflectivity of the optical controller unit 8 is controlled by the electric field to be applied to the optical modulating film 34.
