<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide inexpensive electronic equipment with quick starting time and comparatively high processing speed. <P>SOLUTION: The electronic equipment is provided with: a RAM 3 capable of storing firmware; a real-time clock 5; a clock power supply 9 for always supplying power to the RAM 3 and the real-time clock 5 independently of the start of the electronic equipment; a ROM 2 for storing a firmware updating program; a receiving part 4 for receiving firmware; and a CPU 1 for determining whether the voltage of the clock power supply 9 is dropped to a prescribed voltage or less or not at the time of starting the electronic equipment, and when determining that the voltage is dropped to the prescribed voltage or less, allowing the receiving part 4 to receive the firmware and storing the firmware in the RAM 3 to update the firmware and receiving current time and setting the current time of the real-time clock 5. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
