PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide actions of an upright piano which can impart proper touch weight and sense of touch with a simple constitution and to improve successive piano keying.
SOLUTION: The action 1 of the upright piano which operates as a key 4 is pressed and then rotates a hammer 3 to strike strings is equipped with a jack 7 which engages the hammer 3, thrust up the hammer 3 as a wippen 6 rotates, and leaves the hammer 3 during the rotation, when rotating by a designated stroke RS from the wippen 6, and with jack springs 10, 11, and 31 which energize the jack 7 to engage the hammer 3 again after leaving the hammer 3, the jack springs 10, 11, and 31 having nonlinear characteristics, such that spring constants are larger when the rotational stroke of the jack 7 to the wippen 6 exceeds the designated stroke RS than when the designated stroke RS is not exceeded.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
|
