PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of setting a rake finger using reliable path detection. SOLUTION: In the method of setting a rake finger to a CDMA receiver, delay profiles (42, 47) of a multipath transmission channel are determined (41 or 41 and 43). Signal strength in the delay profiles is distributed over a plurality of delay times, for at least one path component (a, b). At least a part of at least one path component (a, b) is removed by utilizing the impulse response indicating characteristics of a relevant path component in the delay profiles (48).
