PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic device provided with a generator and a battery as power supply, wherein the life of the battery is lengthened and necessity for battery replacement is thereby substantially obviated. SOLUTION: A determination circuit 11 determines whether to supply power from the generator 6 or from the battery 7. Based on the result of the determination, an operation interval control circuit 12 controls intermittent operation at a sensor node 1. In cases where power supply from the battery 7 lasts for a predetermined time, for example, the interval of the operation at the sensor node 1 is lengthened, or the processing to bring it into standby state is carried out. Thus, wasteful consumption of the battery is suppressed. When power supply from the generator 6 is restored, the sensor node 1 is switched to normal operation. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
