PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a peeling method for easily peeling a rubbing cloth to which a double-coated adhesive tape is stuck, from a roller, in the rubbing roller to which the rubbing cloth is stuck via the double-coated adhesive tape. SOLUTION: The tip part of a scraper 15 which is formed into an acute angle and acts as a peeling claw is inserted between the roller 8 of the rubbing roller 7 rotating in small amounts and the double-coated adhesive tape 14, and LN<SB>2</SB>19 as cooling solvent is showered from the outside of the rubbing roller 7 toward the neighborhood of the tip part of the scraper 15 from a shower nozzle 18. Then, the double-coated adhesive tape 14 located at the tip part of the scraper 15 is cooled, adhesive force between the roller 8 and the adhesive tape 14 is weakened, and the rubbing cloth 9 is easily peeled without leaving the adhesive tape 14 on the outer surrounding surface of the roller 8.
