PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an excellently safe wood preservative, an ant-proof and a mildewproofing agent having strong control effects on wood destroying fungi such as Fomitopsis palustris (Berk. et Curt.) Gilbn. & Ryv. FFPRI 0507:TYP or Trametes versicolor (L.:FR.) Pilat FFPRI 1030:COV and exhibiting excellent ant-proof and mildewproofing effects. SOLUTION: The problems are solved by the wood preservative, ant-proof and mildewproofing agent characterized as follows. A polyoxyalkylene alkyl ether in which at least one kind selected from ethylene oxide, propylene oxide and butylene oxide is added to an alkyl alkyl alcohol is contained as an active ingredient.
