Sealing arrangement (2) has sealing ring (4) of primarily of V-shaped cross-section and is clamped under axial pre-stress tightly in between cylinder head (8) and cylinder crankcase (10). Each cylinder (12) of the reciprocating piston engine is surrounded by flexible, deformable sealing ring arranged in between the cylinder head and the cylinder crankcase in the range of separation gap (6).
