The slime trap for a fat separator has a slime chamber (4) below a water space and separated from it by an angled wall (3). The angled wall can be pivoted to allow cleaning of the slime trap using a cleaning hose. The slime trap has an absorbent cleaning medium for removal of foul gases. The slime can be removed through the gas vent pipe (5).
