COLOURING HYDROSOLUBLE YELLOW PREPARATION DERIVED FROM DIHYDROCHALCONES

4,5,2',4',6'-Pentahydroxybiphenyl-2-propionic acid derivatives (I-a) and 2,3,4,4a-tetrahydro-7,9-dihydroxy-2,3-dioxo-dibenzofuran-4a-propionic acid derivatives (I-b) are new. 4,5,2',4',6'-Pentahydroxybiphenyl-2-propionic acid derivatives of formula (I-a) and 2,3,4,4a-tetrahydro-7,9-dihydroxy-2,3-dioxo-dibenzofuran-4a-propionic acid derivatives of formula (I-b) are new: [Image] R 1H or 1-10C alkyl; and R 2H, glucose or xyloglucose. Independent claims are also included for: (1) a process for preparing (I-a) and (I-b); (2) food, pharmaceutical, nutraceutical or cosmetic compositions containing (I-a) or (I-b); (3) esthetic treatment comprising applying a cosmetic composition as above to the skin of an individual. ACTIVITY : Cytostatic. MECHANISM OF ACTION : Antioxidant; Antiradical. Test details are described but no results given.
