A content acquisition method enables a content acquisition device to surely receive content data attribute information. When an acquisition use information providing server (6) receives file request information transmitted from a client terminal (2), an acquisition use file (35) is transmitted to the client terminal (2) via a proxy server (4). The acquisition use file (35) contains content identification information and attribute information on the content data in a portion which is not removed when sent via the proxy server (4) substituting for a partial function of the content acquisition side. Thus, even when the acquisition use file (35) is transmitted via the proxy server (4), the attribute information in the acquisition use file (35) can be transmitted to the client terminal (2) without being removed. That is, the attribute information can surely be received by the client terminal (2).
