The fuel element is of the type of regenerative hydrogen fuel elements and can find application for the supply both of mobile and of stationary users. Fuel element (1) comprises one or more than one cell (2) connected in parallel or are immersed in series each of which is made of a casing (3) filled with electrolyte (4) in which two electrodes (5) of nickel grating with non-platinum catalysts areapplied separated by means of polyethylene separators (6) from each other. Electrolyte (4) is aqueous solution of sodium hydrogen carbonate and electrodes (5) of the end fuel cells (2) are connected to an external voltage source (7). The hydrogen and oxygen required for the operation of the fuel element (1) are produced in the cells (2) themselves by the electrolysis of water and are kept in close proximity to electrodes (5) by means of the polyethylene separators (6). |
