A production method for a polarization plate having an excellent productivity without posing such problems as peeling-off, curling, cracking and blocking, a polarization plate obtained by such a production method, and an image display unit using such a polarization plate. The production metod for a polarization plate includes the steps of pasting a first transparent protection film having a moisture permeability of up to 200g/m2/24h to one surface of a polarizer to form a laminate, and then, without taking up the laminate, pasting a second transparent protection film having a moisture permeability higher than that of the first transparent protection film to the other surface of the polarizer.
