The invention refers to medicine, namely to the dental implantology and is meant for appreciating the possibility of inserting the implant into the edentulous portion of the jaw. Summary of the invention consists in that it is carried out the radioscopic examination of the upper and/or low jaw using a standard in the control portion. Then, there is transmitted light through the negative radiograph in the region of the examined alveolar crest portion and in the region of the control portion, it is determined the quantity of light transmitted through them by means of an exposure meter. It is calculated the bone relative density index, equal to the ratio of obtained values of the light quantity transmitted through the examined and control portions. Where the relative density index is equal or greater than 0,75, it is appreciated that in the examined portion of the alveolar crest there is possible the insertion of the implant.
