The present invention relates to the field of check valves and more specifically to check valves with substantially low operational noise or low shut off noise. Provided is changing a direction of a fluid that closes a first and second flap to produce a slit, gap or orifice. Also provided is passing the fluid through the slit that reduces the speed of the fluid. The reduced speed fluid slowly closes a third flap and reduces shut off noise. The closed third flap creates a tig ht seal to stop any further fluid flow.
