A toner process involving the heating a mixture of an acicular magnetit e dispersion, a colorant dispersion, a wax dispersion, a first latex containin g a crosslinked resin, and a second latex containing a resin free of crosslinkin g in the presence of a coagulant to provide aggregates, stabilizing the aggregates wi th an organic complexing compound salt dissolved in a base, and further heating th e aggregates to provide coalesced toner particles.
