A technique can be used increase the flow of fluid through the trabecular meshwork. The fluid pulses can be focused, thereby perforating the trabecular meshwork , or applied over a larger area so as to stimulate the trabecular meshwork for improved fluid transport. In addition, the pulses of the irrigating fluid can clean away material, such a s iris pigment, that may be blocking or clogging the trabecular meshwork. Such a technique may be practiced using the tip of the present invention and commercially available surgical handpieces. |
