Methods for making concrete blocks with patterned front faces and methods for making the moulds that form the blocks in high-speed, mass production processes are disclosed. The concrete block 10 is formed using dry cast concrete compacted in a mould cavity. The mould is shaped so that a three-dimensional pattern is formed on the front face 12 of the block. The pattern is formed by digitally scanning a selected three-dimensional pattern, either from a natural or man-made object, and creating a mould surface in the mirror image of the pattern. |
