New pharmaceutical compositions containing epinastine and pseudoephedrine

A bilayer tablet wherein: the first layer A comprises a decongestant effective amount of pseudoephedrine or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof which allows sustained release of pseudoephedrine; and the second layer B comprises an antihistaminic effective amount of epinastine or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof which allows immediate release of epinastine. Also described is the use of the bilayer tablet in the treatment allergic rhinitis, allergic congestion of the Eustachian tubes and/or other diseases from allergic origin deserving the administration of antihistamine and decongestant drugs, such as the common cold, and for symptomatic relief associated with cough, cold and flu symptoms.
