<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent developer with a mass of toner or high concentration toner from being mixed into circulating developer right before an area where developer is supplied to a developer carrier or the position in which a toner concentration detecting means is disposed. <P>SOLUTION: The developing device includes: a first developer storage part 41a in which developer held on a developing sleeve 42 is recovered and supplied; and a second developer storage part 41b in which a developer stir auger 46 disposed inside stirs and mixes toner with the developer fed from the first developer storage section 41a and the developer is fed to the first developer storage part 41a. The second developer storage section 41b includes an area B in which internal walls are formed at prescribed intervals, and an area A, located downstream of the area B in the direction of developer conveyance, in which internal walls are formed at intervals shorter than those in the area B. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
