<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive method of a plasma display panel capable of stable writing, even if the panel has high xenon partial pressure and high light emission efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: In the initialization period of each of sub-fields constituting a single field, one of all-cell initializing operation wherein all discharge cells displaying an image are discharged for the initialization and selective initializing operation wherein discharge cells, completing sustain discharging in the last sub-field, are selectively discharged for initialization is carried out, and one of the all-cell initializing operation and selective initializing operation is determined as initializing operation, in each initialization period of the sub-field, based on the xenon partial pressure of the panel. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
