<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust emission cleaning device for an internal combustion engine capable of suppressing deterioration of exhaust emission by promoting the vaporization of a fuel while reducing energy to be consumed for heating the fuel. <P>SOLUTION: The exhaust emission cleaning device for the internal combustion engine comprises an adsorption/reduction type NOx catalyst 9 provided in the exhaust passage 4 of the engine 1, and a fuel addition means 10 for adding the fuel for the engine into the exhaust passage at the upstream side of the NOx catalyst. The device is further provided with a heating means 11 for heating the above fuel in the exhaust passage, an acquiring means 30 for acquiring the distillation characteristics of the fuel added by the fuel addition means, and a control means 30 for controlling the operation of the heating means on the basis of the distillation characteristics acquired by the acquiring means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
