PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner enabling a user to positively recognize an operating state without giving a feeling of coercion to the user more than necessary and designed not to be so conspicuous as to disturb sleep at night. SOLUTION: This air conditioner is provided with a strip member formed of a light transmitting translucent material installed at an upper edge part of a ventilation flue wall connected with a front face lower suction port; a plurality of operating state display parts integrally provided at the strip member, arranged at predetermined spaces in a lateral direction and formed of light transmitting optical members, each comprising a light receiving surface for receiving light from below, a light reflecting surface disposed above the light receiving surface to reflect light which entered from the light receiving surface, refractively forward, and a plurality of luminescent display parts located in front of the reflecting surface to receive light reflected into an upper position communicating with the ventilation flue wall in the front face lower suction port; and a light emission source having a plurality of light emitters for irradiating the operating state display parts.
