PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure waterproofness and rigidity in a boundary between a tatami mat surface and a tatami mat core on a surface of a tatami mat and to secure waterproofness and rigidity in the boundary between the tatami mat surface and the tatami mat core on a tatami mat side surface as well. SOLUTION: In the tatami mat surface 3, its rear surface 3a is wholly adhered on a whole area of a surface 2a of the tatami mat core 2 through an adhesive 11g, and the rear surface 3a of the tatami mat surface 3 is wholly adhered on a whole area of a whole peripheral side surface 2b of the tatami mat core through the adhesive 11g. The tatami mat surface 3 is brought into tight contact with a whole area of the surface 2a of the tatami mat core 2 and gapless constitution is achieved, so that waterproofness and rigidity in the boundary between the tatami mat surface 3 and the tatami mat core 2 on the surface of the tatami mat is secured and the tatami mat surface 3 is brought into tight contact with the whole area of the whole peripheral side surface 2b of the tatami mat core 2 and gapless constitution is also achieved, accordingly waterproofness and rigidity in the boundary between the tatami mat surface 3 and the tatami mat core 2 on the tatami mat side surface is secured.
