PROCESS FOR MAKING HIGH NITRILE MULTIPOLYMER PREPARED FROM ACRYLONITRILE AND OLEFINICALLY UNSATURATED MONOMER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a homogeneous, acrylonitrile olefinically unsaturated multipolymer, and to provide a process for making the same. SOLUTION: The process for producing an acrylonitrile olefinically unsaturated multipolymer comprises polymerizing acrylonitrile monomer with one or more olefinically unsaturated monomers, wherein the process comprises a step for heating an initial multimonomer mixture comprising the acrylonitrile monomer and one or more olefinically unsaturated monomers in an inert gas atmosphere at a temperature within about 30°C to about 120°C, a step for adding an initiator to the initial multimonomer mixture to initiate polymerization reaction, a step for adding the multipolymer feed mixture containing acrylonitrile monomer and one or more olefinically unsaturated monomers to the polymerization mixture, and a step for obtaining the homogeneous, acrylonitrile olefinically unsaturated multipolymer products.
