PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and equipment for manufacturing metal particles by which metal particles of relatively large particle size can be manufactured. SOLUTION: A molten metal 10 in a container 1 falls in the form of a continuous solid molten metal stream 10a by opening an electromagnetic nozzle 8 provided to the bottom of the container 1. When an electric current is applied to an annular conductor 20 disposed under the container 1, an upward or downward force acts on the falling stream of the molten metal and the molten metal stream 10a is broken up by the surface tension of the molten metal. During falling, the molten metal is formed into spherical shape and solidified, and the resultant metal particles 10b are captured in a collection chamber 24. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
