PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polylactic acid resin composition containing a thickener which remarkably increases the melt viscosity of a polylactic acid resin, enables stabilized molding in extrusion molding, blow molding, calender molding, and injection molding and can obtain a molded article having good surface properties and excellent impact resistance and to solve a problem of heat fusion at the drying step in producing a low-molecular-weight polymer, a problem of the filtering characteristics on dehydration, and a problem of the lowering of the melt viscosity on molding the polylactic acid resin. SOLUTION: The polylactic acid resin composition comprises 100 pts.wt. polylactic acid resin (A) and 0.1-50 pts.wt. thickener (B) obtained by coating 100 pts.wt. polymer particles (B-1) which have a glass transition temperature of≥60°C and a volume average particle diameter of 50-500μm, and have reactivity with the polylactic acid resin with 0.5-30 pts.wt. polymer particles (B-2) having a volume average particle diameter of 0.01-0.5μm, and a molded article is obtained from the polylactic acid resin composition.
