PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new fluorine-containing epoxy compound useful as e.g. a raw material for polymers, and to provide a polymer having high transparency for short-wavelength light obtained by polymerizing the above epoxy compound. SOLUTION: The new epoxy compound is represented by formula(1)(wherein, R<SP>F1</SP>and R<SP>F2</SP>are each a fluorine atom or 1-3C perfluoroalkyl). A method for producing the compound of formula(1) is provided, comprising carrying out an epoxidation of a compound of the formula:CF<SB>2</SB>=CFCR<SP>F1</SP>R<SP>F2</SP>OCF<SB>2</SB>CF=CF<SB>2</SB>.
