PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endotoxin activity-inhibiting agent which comprises a substance neutralizing activities of an LPS (lipopolysaccharide) and inhibiting adhesion, induced by the LPS, of leucocytes on vascular endothelial cells, has high specificity to the LPS, exhibits low cytotoxicity, can be prepared in a large amount in a high yield, is clinically applicable and has a low molecular weight. SOLUTION: The endotoxin activity-inhibiting agent comprises either one of a surfactin represented by general formula (1) (wherein R<SB>1</SB>is either one selected from among L-leucine, L-isoleucine and L-valine; and R<SB>2</SB>is an 8-22C alkyl) and a derivative thereof.
