PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sleep state determination device capable of highly precisely determining a sleep state without enlarging a burden imposed on a subject. SOLUTION: This sleep state determination device 10 for determining the sleep state of the subject is provided with brain activity measuring means 23 and 24 measuring indices indicating a change in the active state of the brain of the subject during a sleep and reflecting the brain activity, for every arbitrary unit time; and a sleep state determination means 26 determining the sleep state at the arbitrary time included in a time frame based on the indices measured by the brain activity measuring means for every unit time within the time frame including a cycle of the sleep and reflecting the brain activity.
