FLAT PLATE FLUORESCENT LAMP, BACKLIGHT ASSEMBLY AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY HAVING IT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flat plate fluorescent lamp preventing defective pin holes, a backlight assembly, and a liquid crystal display having it.

SOLUTION: This flat plate fluorescent lamp includes: a lamp body divided into a large number of discharge spaces to generate light; an external electrode formed at both end parts of the lamp body so as to cross the discharge spaces; and an auxiliary electrode combined with the lamp body so as to be brought into contact with the external electrode. The external electrode includes a first compensating electrode part extended from a main electrode part correspondingly to the discharge space adjacent to the main electrode part and its contour made to cross all discharge spaces. The auxiliary electrode is disposed correspondingly to the discharge space in which the first compensating electrode part is formed. The defective pin holes generated in the flat plate fluorescent lamp are thereby eliminated to improve reliability of the product.
