<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a converter circuit for preventing an overcurrent state in a regulator circuit. <P>SOLUTION: The converter, coupled to a DC voltage input and connected to a load, includes a signal response switch coupled between first and second circuit nodes. A current flows into the second circuit node by the closed switch, and bypasses the load. The output from the regulator circuit is coupled to a control input of the switch. The regulator circuit has a first input for receiving a detected load parameter, a second input for receiving a current level signal detected at the second circuit node when the switch is closed, and a third input for receiving the current level signal, measured directly and sensed at the second circuit node, when the switch is opened. The fixed minimum time is set so as to place the switch in a state to be opened, and the third input blocks reclosing of the switch, and provides a current-limiting protection with respect to the switch. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
