PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a processing method of a plastic containing a thermosetting resin that is contained in a large amount in waste, whereby a method for producing a regenerated resin capable of adjusting an ortho/para ratio of a hydroxy group and a methylene group which bond to benzene rings of a regenerated resin component is provided, and to provide a regenerated resin, a recycling method and a recycled plastic. SOLUTION: The method for producing regenerated resin for molding materials comprises a decomposition/solubilization step wherein the plastic containing the thermosetting resin is decomposed and/or solubilized in a solvent essentially comprising water and a phenolic compound, a realignment step wherein pH of the recovered matter, which is obtained by the above step, is raised or lowered at a temperature of≥150°C, whereby a methylene group which is bonded to a phenol is cut and/or recombined. Further, the recycling method of a plastic in which the regenerated resin, which is obtained by the above-mentioned production method, is reused as a material of molding, and the recycled plastic in which the regenerated resin is reused as a material.
