PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic recording head and a method of manufacturing the magnetic recording head. SOLUTION: In the magnetic recording head includes a stack having a main pole and a return pole, the stack includes a first magnetic layer having a groove formed thereon, an insulating layer for covering the surface of the groove, and a second magnetic layer filled with the groove covered with the insulating layer.
