PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably obtain an aromatic liquid crystalline polyester film controlling rise in melt viscosity during heating. SOLUTION: [1] The aromatic liquid crystalline polyester is obtained by adding an organic basic compound in a temperature range of≥200°C when a transesterification reaction is carried out while raising a temperature to≤350°C in a method for producing an aromatic liquid crystalline polyester by acylating a phenolic hydroxy group of an aromatic diol and/or an aromatic hydroxycarboxylic acid with a fatty acid anhydride to give an acylated substance and then transesterifying the acylated substance with an acylated aromatic dicarboxylic acid and/or an acylated aromatic hydroxycarboxylic acid. [2] The aromatic liquid crystalline polyester liquid composition comprises [1] the aromatic liquid crystalline polyester and a solvent containing≥30% of a halogen-based phenol on the weight base.
