PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a snap ring for preventing the come-off and/or rotation of a shaft inserted into the hole of a holding member by reducing the rattling of the holding member and increasing the engaging force thereof. SOLUTION: The snap ring 10 has a circumferential portion 11 bent in a circular shape and a protruded end 12 bent outward from both ends of the circumferential portion 11 to the radial direction and extending almost parallel and inserted into an engaging groove 24. The protruded end 12 extends outward to the radial direction via a first bent portion 13 bent inward from the circumferential portion 11 and a second bent portion 14 bent outward ranging from the first bent portion 13. A portion 15 ranging from the circumferential portion 11 of the snap ring 10 to the protruded end has no contact with an angle portion 24a of the engaging groove 24 to hardly cause wear and rattling.
