PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylinder liner and a cylinder block capable of suppressing occurrence of a clearance on a boundary face of the cylinder liner and a cylinder block main body and obtaining stable close adhesion and connection strength. SOLUTION: A first inclined face 15b whose diameter is gradually reduced when shifting to a central part 12a side in the axial direction, a channel bottom part 15d which has circular arc cross section and whose diameter is gradually enlarged, and a plurality of peripheral direction channels 15 having cross section in the axial direction where a second inclined face 15f opposing to the first inclined face 15b is continuous like a J character shape are formed on an outer peripheral face 12 of the cylinder liner 10 made of cast iron using a central part 12a in the axial direction as symmetry. When the cylinder liner 10 is wrapped by the cylinder block main body 30 made of aluminum alloy by casting, close adhesion property and connection strength of the boundary face B of the cylinder liner 10 and the cylinder block main body 30 can be ensured by the peripheral direction channels 15.
