<p>Producing 4-fluoroethylene carbonate involves feeding a mixture gas of fluorine and nitrogen into a reactor (1) having ethylene carbonate, to react the ethylene carbonate with the mixture gas. The mixture gas is regulated to have a desired bubble size while passing through a gas bubble regulating column (3), in which packing for a packed column is packed. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) purifying 4-fluoroethylene carbonate involving distilling 4-fluoroethylene carbonate, containing hydrofluoric acid produced by reacting ethylene carbonate with fluorine and nitrogen gases, unreacted ethylene carbonate, and difluoroethylene carbonate, in a vacuum so as to separate and purify hydrofluoric acid, ethylene carbonate, and difluoroethylene carbonate, thus producing highly pure 4-fluoroethylene carbonate; and (2) a reactor (1) for producing 4-fluoroethylene carbonate comprising an fluorine/nitrogen mixture gas inlet (2); a reaction compartment (8) having a cooling water jacket provided on its external surface, and having cylinders of specific shape; a vent (7) provided at its upper part; and a gas bubble regulating column (3), in which a packing for a packed column is packed and which is provided in the reaction compartment.</p> |
