A controller (200) calibrates a magnetic sensor (100) by calculation. A calculating part (210) calculates magnetic field intensity from each output from X, Y and Z axes of the magnetic sensor (100). This operation is performed for four or more different points. Among the four points, at least one point is not on the same flat plane. The calculating part (210) converts each output from the X, Y and Z axes of the magnetic sensor (100) into a three-dimensional space coordinate and a sphere passing each coordinate of the four or more points is generated. The coordinates of a center point of the generated sphere become an offset magnetic field quantity. Calibration is performed by reducing the obtained magnetic field of the X, Y and Z axes from each output from the X, Y and Z axes of the magnetic sensor (100), respectively. |
