FIELD: biotechnology, microbiology. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to control of plankton and attached microbiological populations in industrial aqueous system. Method involves addition a fluorogenic dye to the industrial aqueous system followed by measurement the fluorescent signal by a fluorimeter device and calculation of its ratio to a fluorescent signal of unreacted dye. Based on data of measurement the conclusion is done about the microbiological activity in the industrial aqueous system.
