PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an arc discharge lamp in which conventional faults are eliminated, a reinforcement member for supporting a light emission tube assembly is improved with an economical method, and the miss alignment of the light emission assembly from the longitudinal axis of the lamp is prevented. SOLUTION: The arc discharge lamp includes a light emission tube having a inner vacant body, an electrode extending to the inner vacant body. The electrode and the inner vacant body are arranged along the longitudinal axis. The light emission tube is surrounded by a shroud. The shroud and light emission tube forms an assembly. The light emission tube assembly is surrounded by a lamp cover. The cover has a mouthpiece having a cylindrical part. An electrical lead passing through the mouthpiece is connected to the light emission tube electrode. When a vertical force is applied to the arc discharge lamp, the miss alignment of the light emission assembly from the longitudinal axis is prevented by the reinforce member. The reinforce member has an extending element having a first end portion and a second end portion. The first end portion is formed to be combined with the light emission assembly.
