PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent recording mistake at reserved video recording of a television broadcasting program or the like by notifying the number of estimated residual recordable times of a re-writable optical disk and a deterioration state of the recording quality of the optical disk to a user. SOLUTION: At the time of designing firmware of a disk device, recording, reproducing, and erasing from the prescribed address of a data recording region of the optical disk to the last address are repeated, the number of times of recording of a plurality of optical disks for each MID are accumulated and statistics of the number of times of recording of a plurality of optical disks for each MID are obtained, a deterioration estimation formula of the optical disk by the number of times of recording is calculated and an average number of recordable times of the optical disk for each MID is stored, at the time of recording of information data for the optical disk, MID recorded in a RAM of the optical disk is compared with the number of recordable times of the optical disk of the MID, and it is discriminated whether the number of times of recording of the optical disk is within the number of recordable times of the optical disk or not and the discriminated result is displayed.
