PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a foldable rack for drying clothes in which the one compressed into a flat shape when it is not needed is easily and quickly displaced to a normal using form when it is needed and the normal using form is stably maintained. SOLUTION: This rack for drying clothes 1 can be expanded and compressed in a vertical direction, two side frames 2 and 3 energized by springs are made to face each other on the right and left in an expansion direction, and two or more stages of shelf frames 6, 6' and 6" composed by pivoting the proximal end side between the side frames 2 and 3 and mounting the distal end side on a horizontal rod disposed between the side frames are provided. A stopper for maintaining the maximum expansion point of the side frames is provided on at least the shelf frame 6" of the top stage among the shelf frames, and also a linking means 9 for lifting the distal end of the other shelf frame at the time of lifting the stopper of the shelf frame of the top stage so as to release it is provided.
