An engine-driven work machine, wherein an engine/work machine unit (5) is stored in a box (30) and a cooling fan (15) causing the flow of cooling air flowing from an air inlet (39) to an air outlet (40) via. the periphery of the engine/work machine unit (5) is disposed in the box (30). A gas-liquid separating chamber (32) restricting the flow of the cooling air is formed between the air inlet (39) and the engine/work machine unit (5), and a first wall surface (32a1) changing the flow of the cooling air from the upper direction into the lateral direction after the flow is collided therewith and a second wall surface (32a2) changing the flow of the cooling air from the lateral direction into the diagonal downward direction are formed in the gas-liquid separating chamber (32). Thus, mist contained in the cooling air can be effectively separated and removed before the cooling air taken in the box reaches the periphery of the engine/work machine unit.
