PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the amount of communication data and to lighten an encoding/decoding processing load in a system comprising a network camera simultaneously distributing two video streams of video with a view angle for photography and wide-angle video and a viewer where those video streams are superposed and displayed one over the other. SOLUTION: When superposition display is performed, encoding processing is carried out while a region of a wide-angle video region which is hidden behind photographic view-angle video is replaced with image data painted out in one color and the resulting data are outputted as wide-angle video data. The replacing monochromatic image data has values closest to the luminance and color difference data of a peripheral image in the object region. Further, the monochromatic image data replacing the region according to peripheral image data are updated each time for each frame of the video. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
