PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent unwanted image display of a display device of a portable video apparatus such as a digital camera. SOLUTION: In the digital camera 10, a CPU 41 controls driving of the camera. An imaging element 40 generates an image signal, and the CPU 41 causes the display device 12 to display the generated image. A vibration detecting sensor 30 detects a vibration amount of the digital camera 10. A counter 52 counts a time in which the measured vibration amount is not more than continuous predetermined amount. When the counted time becomes a first time period or more, image display in the display device 12 is stopped. On the contrary, if the vibration amount of not less than the predetermined vibration amount is detected after the image display is stopped, the image display in the display device 12 is resumed. Further, the counted time becomes not less than a second time period larger than the first time period, driving of the digital camera 10 is also stopped. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
