PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor laser device having satisfactory in heat dissipating properties and in suppressing the occurrence of unwanted beams caused by the reflection of the beam emitted in front of the laser element, and which is suitable for a light source, for a laser pointer or for a line marker. SOLUTION: The semiconductor laser device 1 comprises a heatsink 2, a submount 3 arranged on the upper surface of the heatsink, and a visible light emitting semiconductor laser element 4 arranged on the upper surface of the submount, and the semiconductor laser element has a luminous point in front of the submount 3. The submount is fixed on the heatsink so that the upper surface of the heatsink 2 exposes in front of the submount 3, and a membrane 8 for preventing the reflection is formed on the upper surface exposing in front of the submount.
