PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus designed to prevent nonuniform image density without providing a dedicated drive means for a mechanism that adjusts a conveying speed after exposure. SOLUTION: In a speed adjusting section 50 between an exposure section 30 and a development section 60, the drive force of an exposure drive motor M1 is transmitted to the conveyance speed adjustment rollers 52 and 54 of the speed adjustment section 50 via one-way clutches 52B and 54B capable of idly rotating only in the conveying direction. Photosensitive recording paper 18 is conveyed to the developing section 60 at a speed lower than the conveying speed assigned to the developing section 60. This makes it possible to prevent nonuniform image density without providing a dedicated drive means for the mechanism that adjusts the conveying speed after exposure. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
